The Mary Philippa Brazill Foundation was established in 1993 for the
purpose of providing financial support for research and education in
ethics with an emphasis on the ethics of health care and with special
regard to the promotion of these activities in Catholic institutions
The Trustees of the Foundation invite applications for Grants for
2014 from individuals in their personal capacity and as representatives
institutions wishing to sponsor scholars and conferences.

Recipients of the grants awarded in 2012:
- Catherine Garner, Executive Director Mission Integration, Cabrini Health Melbourne – was awarded a grant of $3,000 to attend a one week intensive Bioethics Course at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics, Georgetown University, Washington USA in June 2013.
- Jane Phillips, Professor Palliative Care Nursing, School of Nursing, The Cunningham Centre for Palliative Care Sydney and University of Notre Dame Australia – was awarded a grant of $4,000 to assist her and two co-investigators to conduct Phase 1 of a qualitative research study in 2013. The study will explore the perceived capacity of medical and nursing students at Notre Dame University NSW to respond to requests of euthanasia, the approaches they would adopt to inform these conversations, and to identify if additional learning opportunities are required in this area.
- Julia Trimboli, Director of Mission, Calvary Health Care Bethlehem – was awarded a grant of $3,000 to assist her to complete Masters in Bioethics studies at Monash University in 2013.
